Scientific Study Finds That 7-Hydroxymitragynine Is A Far More Effective Pain Reliever Than Morphine, And Also That 7-hydroxymitragynine Is Far Less Constipating Than Morphine
A scientific study titled ‘Involvement of mu-opioid receptors in antinociception and inhibition of gastrointestinal transit induced by 7-hydroxymitragynine, isolated from Thai herbal medicine Mitragyna speciosa‘ deep dived the pharmacodynamics of 7-hydroxymitragynine, which is one of the primary Kratom alkaloids, and found that 7-hydroxymitragynine is a far more effective pain reliever than Morphine, and that 7-hydroxymitragynine causes far less constipation than Morphine as well.
In this study the scientists conducted a battery of experiments in order to determine the antinociceptive (pain relieving) and gastrointestinal properties of 7-hydroxymitragynine, including the tail-flick test, hot-plate test, electrical stimulation of the vas deferens, and electrical stimulation of the ileum.
It was found that 7-hydroxymitragynine’s pain relieving effects peaked within 7-15 minutes of injection, while Morphine had a peak at 30 minutes, so right off the bat it was found that 7-hydroxymitragynine is faster-acting than Morphine.
Further, 7-hydroxymitragynine was found to be 4.4-5.7 times more potent than Morphine when it comes to pain relief, which is a critically important result, since pain relief is the reason that synthetic opioids and opiates are prescribed.
Literally, this data shows that 7-hydroxymitragynine is a better pain reliever than Morphine. Indeed, real-life stories previously posted on The Kratom Herald about how Kratom helped people overcome chronic pain indicated that Kratom was more effective for chronic pain than synthetic opioids and opiates.
Notably, the scientists speculate that 7-hydroxymitragynine is faster-acting and more potent than Morphine because it has higher lipophilicity, and therefore is more efficient at crossing the blood-brain barrier.
Another extremely interesting result from these experiments is that 7-hydroxymitragynine was found to be 4.9-6.4 times less constipating than Morphine. Whereas Morphine causes constipation at a much smaller dose than it’s pain relieving dose, meaning that anyone who takes Morphine for pain relief will definitely be constipated, 7-hydroxymitragynine causes constipation at doses much higher than it’s pain relieving dose.
Constipation is a serious issue for synthetic opioid and opiate users, and the data from this study makes it clear that Kratom is a better option, since Kratom causes far less constipation than Morphine.
Thus, this scientific study has confirmed that 7-hydroxymitragynine, a primary Kratom alkaloid, is far superior to Morphine, both in terms of more potent and faster-acting pain relief, and far less constipation. All things considered, this data makes a strong case that Kratom is a better solution for chronic pain than Morphine, especially since Kratom is relatively non-addictive and has never caused a death in history, while Morphine is dangerous, deadly, and highly addictive.
