New Scientific Study Strongly Suggests That Kratom Can Suppress/Kill Cancer Cells, And That Kratom Enhances The Anti-Cancer Effects Of Chemotherapy

The University Sains Malaysia has published a new peer-reviewed scientific study titled ‘Combinations of indole based alkaloids from Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom) and cisplatin inhibit cell proliferation and migration of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell lines‘. This study presents astonishing evidence regarding Kratom’s ability to suppress/kill cancer cells, in addition to evidence that Kratom makes cancer cells more vulnerable to Chemotherapy, i.e. Kratom makes Chemotherapy more effective against cancer.
Diving into the details, during in vitro experiments it was found that Kratom had a potent inhibitory effect on Nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells, which is a type of head/neck cancer.
Then the scientists analyzed how a combination of Kratom and Cisplatin (a common chemotherapy drug) impacted cancer cells. It was found that the combination of Kratom and the chemotherapy drug was more effective against cancer than chemotherapy alone.
Notably, the scientists say that Mitragynine and Speciociliatine were the two alkaloids most responsible for the anti-cancer effects observed.
Based on all of this, the scientists conclude “Our data indicate that both mitragynine and speciociliatine could be potential chemosensitizers for cisplatin”.
Literally, the scientists are saying that Kratom can enhance Chemotherapy’s effectiveness against cancer. This is of course a major finding, since Chemotherapy does not have a very high success rate, so if Kratom can improve the effectiveness of Chemotherapy then a lot of lives could be saved.
Zooming out however, the most interesting finding in this study is that Kratom by itself can suppress and kill cancer cells to a certain extent. This topic obviously deserves immediate and intensive research, since it seems pretty clear that Kratom can help people with cancer, it’s just more studies would need to be done before this Kratom benefit can be officially recognized by doctors.
Of course, since Big Pharma makes countless billions of dollars on cancer drugs/treatments, it is incredibly unlikely that any company would fund the research necessary to thoroughly ascertain Kratom’s anti-cancer properties.
That being said, this knowledge is still useful, and people who have cancer should keep Kratom in mind. Indeed, aside from the possibility that Kratom suppresses/kills cancer cells, Kratom also has many other benefits for cancer victims including potent pain relief, stress relief, and anti-insomnia effects.
